Calves

Since early 2009 we have been rearing dairy calves. We take calves from a week old direct from two local dairies and rear them to 3-4months. 

Most calves are black & white bulls which are sold to a local farm for intensive fattening, with continental cross calves being sold to another local farm for grazing.

We rear around 150+ calves each year but are expanding year on year with calves being reared on contract for other farms.

Calves are housed in individual hutches initially and then batched at 6-8 weeks into groups of 5. They are weaned at 8-10 weeks before moving off at 12wks+.  Calves are fed BOCM qrd pellets ad-lib and vaccinated with ripsoval intra-nasal prior to moving. We pride ourselves in rearing strong, healthy calves for local farms.
